Abstract
पेन्शन योजना के लिए भारत के मजदूर वर्ग की ओर से संघर्ष करने का इतिहास बहुत लम्बा है। सीआइटीयू पेन्शन योजना के लिए संघर्ष में सदा अग्रिम पंक्तियों में रहा है।
भारत में वृद्ध लोगों को आर्थिक वंचना की स्थिति में जाने से बचाने के लिए सार्वभौमिक सामाजिक सुरक्षा की व्यवस्था नहीं है। भारत में सेवानिवृत्ति के लाभ एक अथवा दूसरे रूप में केवल 11 प्रतिशत कामकाजी जनता को नसीब होते हैं। सीआइटीयू की लगातार यही मांग रही है कि अंशदायी भविष्य निधि तथा ग्रेच्युटी के अतिरिक्त सेवानिवृत्ति के तीसरे लाभ के रूप में पेन्शन दी जाए।

Employees' Pension Scheme 1995 – Government’s Apathy
There is a long history of struggle by India's working class for a pension scheme. CITU has consistently been at the forefront of this struggle.
India lacks a universal social security system to protect the elderly from falling into a state of economic deprivation. Retirement benefits, in one form or another, are available to only 11 percent of the working population in India. CITU has consistently demanded that a pension be provided as a third retirement benefit, in addition to the Contributory Provident Fund and gratuity.
