FIGHT AGAINST SKYROCKETTING PRICES!

Since the last four years or so, prices of all essential commodities and the food items in particular have been continuously rising, making the life of the mass of the people miserable. The inflation rate (based on wholesale price index) of food commodities have been consistently rising every year since 2006 from 5.09 to 5.60 in 2007, 7.87 in 2008, 12.90 in 2009 and 19.42 in January 2010 and in the week ending January 2011, the food inflation stood at 15.5. The inflation figure every year reflects the ex-tent of rise in the prices of food commodities over the previous year.
The basic feature of the rise in prices during last four years or so reveals a distinct trend. The rise in prices has been continuous throughout the year and year after year with no signs of going down or moderated at any point of time during the entire period. Mere demand-supply gap alone cannot explain such consistent and continuous rise in prices of food commodities striking at the belly of the common man, although that happens to be one of the major long term factors. Since 2006 onward, annual growth rate of food-output has always been a positive one except for the year 2009-10, which along with import of some of the food commodities cannot indicate such major shortage in supply as can justify such continuity and speed in the rise in prices as has been visible during the span of last four years. The phenomenon is therefore a systemic one being consciously promoted by those in the governance of the economy.

The forthcoming assembly elections in West Bengal and Kerala are of crucial importance for not only the working class but also the ruling classes, the corporate employers and the landlords, obviously for different reasons. The results will have implications for the working people, not only of those two states, but of the entire country. These elections are also crucial for the sustenance of democratic institutions and democratic polity of the country as a whole.
These elections are not a routine periodic exercise to decide who will be forming the next state governments there but also to decide which direction the politico-economic events in the country will unfold. Behind the conflict surfaced by the assembly elections in these two states, is underlined the conflict of two distinct trends – the neoliberal's hell bent bid for a push toward more right-wing direction to ultimately jump into the bandwagon of the imperialist agencies on the one hand and the determined opposition by the Left and progressive forces to halt such a rightward shift. The one means surrender to imperialist forces and attendant erosion of the rights of the people in favour of the interests of big business, both domestic and foreign, the other means strengthening the opposition to the machinations for complete destruction of the concept of welfare, democracy and rights of the people and making them retreat.
कर्मचारी पेन्शन योजना 1995 - सरकार की लापरवाही

पेन्शन योजना के लिए भारत के मजदूर वर्ग की ओर से संघर्ष करने का इतिहास बहुत लम्बा है। सीआइटीयू पेन्शन योजना के लिए संघर्ष में सदा अग्रिम पंक्तियों में रहा है।
भारत में वृद्ध लोगों को आर्थिक वंचना की स्थिति में जाने से बचाने के लिए सार्वभौमिक सामाजिक सुरक्षा की व्यवस्था नहीं है। भारत में सेवानिवृत्ति के लाभ एक अथवा दूसरे रूप में केवल 11 प्रतिशत कामकाजी जनता को नसीब होते हैं। सीआइटीयू की लगातार यही मांग रही है कि अंशदायी भविष्य निधि तथा ग्रेच्युटी के अतिरिक्त सेवानिवृत्ति के तीसरे लाभ के रूप में पेन्शन दी जाए।

15वीं लोक सभा चुनावों में वामपंथी-जनवादी एवं धर्मनिरपेक्ष पार्टियों को वोट दो! यू.पी.ए. एवं एन.डी.ए. दोनों को ही शिकस्त दो! जनहितैषी विकल्प को जिताओ!
15वीं लोक सभा चुनावों की घोषणा हो चुकी है। मेहनतकशों के लिए, यह आम चुनाव इस नजरिए से अत्यधिक महत्वपूर्ण है कि पिछले 11 वर्षों में से 6 वर्ष तक भाजपा नेतृत्व वाली एन.डी.ए. तथा 5 वर्ष के दौरान काँग्रेस नेतृत्व वाली यूपी.ए. द्वारा अपनायी गयी वैश्वीकरण की आर्थिक नीतियों के दुष्परिणामों को ध्यान में रखकर नयी सरकार का चुनाव करना है। देश के मजदूरों के समक्ष सबसे अहम् सवाल यह है कि एन.डी.ए. तथा यू पी.ए. द्वारा अपनायी गयी आर्थिक नीतियों का समर्थन करें अथवा उन्हें रद्द करके तीसरे विकल्प पर विचार करे?
भाजपा और उसके जोटीदारों को अगले चुनावों में पटखनी दो

वाजपेयी की सरकार की विदेश नीति का झुकाव साम्राज्यवाद की ओर रहा; उसके दौर में बदतरीन किसम के दंगे हुए; कानून की धज्जियां उड़ते देखी गई; खूनी हिंसा का तांडव होते देखा गया; रिकार्डतोड़ घोटाले हुए जिनमें एनडीए के मंत्री तथा नेता शामिल पाए गए, इस शासन ने अपने वोट बैंक को और पुख्ता करने के लिये 'हिन्दुत्व' का पत्ता खुल कर खेला है और उसके लिये आक्रमक तेवर अपनाने से भी यह शासन बाज नहीं आया; यही नहीं, इस सरकार के दौर में जन साधारण के जनवादी अधिकारों पर भी पूरी ताकत के साथ धावा बोला गया।
वर्ष 1998-2003 के बीच पेश किये गए प्रत्येक वार्षिक बजट तथा 2004 के चुनाव पूर्व अंतरिम बजट में पूंजीपतियों तथा सामंतों एवं भूमिपतियों की श्रेणी को दिल खोल कर मालामाल किया गया है; करों में छूटों, अनुदानों, संस्थागत समझौतों तथा दूसरे कई तरह के आड़े तिरछे ढंग तरीकों से उन्हें भारी भरकम आर्थिक लाभ पहुंचाए गए; इसके बदले में गरीब जनता को क्या मिला? उनके कंधों पर करों, ऊंचे मूल्यों का अधिक से अधिक भारी भरकम बोझ डालने के मामले में कोई कसर बाकी नहीं रहने दी गई कारखाना बंदी, रोजगारों की क्षति तथा कई और ढंग तरीके अपना कर उन्हें हाल से बदहाल करने में कोई कसर बाकी नहीं रखी गई।
श्रमिक वर्ग तथा देश के मेहनतकश अवाम को इसकी इजाजत कतई नहीं देनी चाहिये। यह उनके सबसे भयानक शत्रुओं की सत्ता है …
