| dc.description.abstract | The Report of the Second National Commission on Labour generated a great deal of debate all over the country. The employers and the Government are extremely keen to get the recommendations implemented without any delay. The trade unions are coming together to oppose these anti-working class recommendations, which hit at the very root of the trade union movement. Despite some paragraphs here and there showing up sympathy towards the conditions of the workings class, the major thrust of the report is an affront to the working class. Whatever rights the trade union movement has achieved, through years of bitter struggle, are sought to be snatched away to suit the interests of the capitalist class, both Indian and foreign. A team of the CITU Secretaries at the centre comprising W. R. Varada Rajan, Tapan Sen and K. Hemalata had authored this publication. They have made tireless efforts to study the recommendations in depth and expose its vicious character before the working class. CONTENTS Foreword - M.K. Pandhe, General Secretary, CITU 1.
